Joshua Altback, Artistic Director of Joshua Altback Hairdressing & Beauty in London’sSt John’s Wood is one of the leading hair stylists in the bridal arena. Whether you want soft, tousled hair or a glamorously styled mane on your perfect day, Joshua will create your fairytale creation to complete your wedding day look.

“I work with over 30 brides a year, often traveling the world to attend to my clients and each one of them has their own individual style, often dependent on their dress and theme of the wedding. I also incorporate current seasonal trends and accessories, whilst still maintaining that personal touch.”

“For this year, the Sixties is making a comeback.  Think Audrey Hepburn; a little bit of backcombing, glamorous hair up styles with a sleek yet full look.  Hairpieces can be used for extra length or body.”  Josh can design these hairpieces especially for you to cater to the specific styling of your hair for the big day.

The rustic look is very popular – soft curls should be pinned up into a sexy clean mess, with twisted front sections combined with soft thin lace interwoven through the twisted hair. Finally the look can be completed with home-made porcelain rose yellow tiara!

For a more contemporary style, brides should have basket weaved hair, or a combination of plaits through the front sections, running into neat classic ponytails and to keep the hair in place add pear or crystal grips or soft pink, purple or mauve flowers. A classic contemporary twist is back, simplified with a touch of color using roses or an elegant Swarovski crystal tiara in aqua marine.

Whatever your needs or vision, Josh can furnish this.  We will incorporate seasonal flowers and accessories to accentuate details of your gown and any other aspects of your wedding.  The options are endless and whatever style you are aiming for can be achieved.
We hold wedding hair trial sessions in the salon, which last for an hour and a half.  This is where you can come and share your vision with Josh, and he will have you ready and feeling gorgeous for the big day.

Joshua says………..
Go to a hairdresser who specialises in bridal hair or putting hair up.
Look through bridal magazines for current trends and accessories.
Try different styles.
Take photographs so that you can remember.
Have hair and make-up trial at the same time if possible.
If your hair is coloured, make sure it is done 1 to 2 weeks before the big day.
Have your hair cut/trimmed 1 or 2 weeks before the wedding.
On the day make sure your hairdresser does your hair first. If your hair is fine, then specialized hand made light-weight hair pieces can be made to give it more texture and/or length.
Remember word of mouth is always good too.

Free consultations are available with Joshua at the salon. 1 ½ hour trial session is £65.00.
